Spring has sprung! This new season brings about many changes across most regions of the United States. Warmer temperatures, rainy days, and flowers in bloom are among the many natural changes associated with spring. Many people also look forward to the longer daylight hours. While spring brings beautiful weather and sunnier days, more than half of the US population struggles with the start of the Allergy Season.

Get to Know Seasonal Allergies

As the weather changes, plants begin to launch their seeds and bloom. Increased plant and tree activity bring about a rise in pollen which triggers a cascade of events in the body. When your immune system comes in contact with a lot of allergens, many different allergy symptoms can develop, such as:

  • Runny nose

  • Watery eyes

  • Coughing

  • Sneezing

  • Throat irritation

  • Increased mucus production

We’re Here to Help!

Your Summers Pharmacy Pharmacist Can Help with your Allergy Symptoms

Is it COVID-19 or Allergies?

The past few months have seen a decrease in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. While the numbers are starting to trend in the right direction, it’s essential to remember COVID is not entirely removed from our lives just yet. Since some COVID symptoms and allergy symptoms do overlap, it’s important to know when to see a healthcare professional.

Unlike allergy sufferers, COVID often presents with fever and body aches. The diagram provided below helps clear up some confusion between COVID-19 and allergies.

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, call your local Summers Pharmacy to help discuss the next steps!
